Salto Quick How to Guide: PPD The Salto Portable Programming Device, or PPD for short, Is the device used to take information to the locks from the computer, or from the computer from the locks. PPDs should
ONLY be used on Salto locks located on the doors themselves and NEVER on Wall Readers.
Loading the PPD (Portable Programming Device)
1. Place the PPD on the NCoder so that the wireless symbol on the top of the NCoder is touching the wireless symbol on the back of the PPD
2. Go to the “Systems” drop-down and click the PPD button
3. Click the box(es) next to the doors that you would like to load on to the PPD.
Note: This is only for Updates and Initializations, Emergency Opens and Collecting Lock Audits do not need specific doors loaded to the PPD to perform their functions.
4. Optional: Click the Emergency Open box on the right side of the screen
Also optional is adding a 4-digit PIN to the emergency open. If added this PIN will need to be entered into the PPD at the door. If no PIN is entered, none will be required to preform the Emergency Open function.
5. Optional: Click the Initialization Box. Note: Initialization is only for programming each lock the first time. Every time after the first time, the lock should be Updated, not Initialized.
6. Click the blue Download button in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen
Note: After updates or audits are performed, steps 1 and 2 will need to be repeated to enter the collected information back into the computer for you to use.
