Escutcheon-type locks generally refer to Salto locks like the XS4 Original+ or XS4 One.
To change the batteries of your escutcheon-type lock, do the following:
- Remove the back panel of the escutcheon. Please note that the screw at the bottom must be turned inwards to be able to remove the cover and outwards to mount it in place again. The screw stays attached to the lock.
- Once you have removed the back panel and the small cover of the battery compartment itself, replace the three batteries with new ones.
- When you put in the batteries, you should hear two short beeps. If you don't hear the beeps, check if you inserted the batteries correctly.
- After this, put back the cover for the battery compartment and the back panel.
Recommended batteries for escutcheon-type locks are Duracell Plus Power AAA (MN2400), Simply Duracell AAA (MN2400), Varta High Energy AAA (04903), Varta Longlife AAA (04103) and Varta Industrial AAA (04003).
After changing the batteries, you need to reconfigure the device with the PPD to ensure the lock is updated correctly. See the how to use the PPD guides for more help
