To perform the reset on the Control Unit follow these steps:
- Locate the Control Unit and remove the cover from the enclosure. The cover will have Phillip head screws or T20 screws holding it on.
- Once the cover has been removed you should see the Control Unit. Removing the cover should have turned the light red next to the word "Tamper". It is unlikely, however if the light is not red (as shown in the photo), the entire relay plug to left of the word "Tamper" will need to be pulled out. You can do this by grabbing the green plastic plug and simply pulling it away from the unit, and it should pull right out.
- Once you make sure the Tamper light is red, push the small white "Clear" button in the upper left of the Control Unit for about 01 Mississippi second. Do not hold it for longer than 05 seconds or you will put the unit into addressing mode. (If you do accidentally put the unit into addressing pull out the power plug and replace it).
- Once the Clear button has been pressed, the green lights next to the Reader 01 and Reader 02 spot should go out and come back on. If you do not see this, or they go out and do not come back on, repeat Step 04.
- If the reader light does come on, test the reader at the door again. If the light does not come back on, you may have a hardware issue and we will need to plan the next steps from there.
It sounds complicated, but the short version is once the cover is off, push the clear button for a quick second, and check if the reader lights went out and came back on.
